Your farm data is yours: how Phase treats farm records
Who owns the records you keep in Phase, who can see them, how you get them out, and what Phase Agent is allowed to change. The short, plain version.
Farm records are worth something. A season of yields, rates, costs and soil tests is the result of years of work, and growers are right to ask what happens to it once it is in someone else's software.
Here is how Phase treats it, in plain words. The full detail is in our privacy policy and terms, and those are what count if anything here is unclear.
You own it
Your farm data is yours. We do not sell it.
Phase is paid for by subscriptions. Your records are not the product.
You decide who sees it
A farm in Phase has owners, managers, employees and advisors, and view-only logins for people who only need to look. You set what each person in your workspace can do.
Some things are kept private by design, not left to a setting. A worker sees only their own hours, for example, and never anyone else's.
Your agronomist can have their own free login and join your farm with an access code you give them. They are a guest in your farm's records. It stays your farm.
You can take it with you
While your trial or subscription is active, records and reports export to CSV, Excel and PDF, and owners and managers can export the farm's records and files.
This matters more than it sounds. Software you cannot leave is software that does not have to stay good. We would rather keep you by being worth keeping.
Connections are your choice
Phase can connect to a machinery account or a weather station, but only when you connect it, using your own account with that provider. Phase is independent of those businesses. You can disconnect whenever you like.
Phase Agent asks before it changes anything
Phase Agent can answer questions from your records and can propose changes, such as a rate or a date on a plan. It does not make them on its own.
A proposed change is shown with the old value and the new one, the quantities involved and the stock on hand. Nothing changes until you approve it. Answers point back to the records they came from, so you can check them.
If you try Phase and do not carry on
If a trial ends and you do not subscribe, your records do not vanish overnight. Phase currently keeps the workspace available to reopen for 90 days, and it reopens if you choose a plan in that time.
Why we care about this
Phase was started on a farm, and our own farm's records are in it. We have the same stake in this as you do. The rule we work to is the one we would want as customers: it is your farm and your data, and the software is a guest.
If you have a question about your data that this does not answer, write to support@phase.ag.
